National Competition - Update

An excellent weekend for SIBC notching up 2 wins in th Yetton Trophy and Egham Trophy respectively. Well done to all the players who represented the club in these matches.

Saturday 1st November saw SIBC field a Ladies Yetton Trophy team for the first time since 2012 and they put in an excellent performance defeating Bromsgrove IBC - last seasons regional finalists - 95-80.

Wins for Ann Wooding, Thelma Oberson, Liz Wooding & Hannah Smith 27-14 over Andrea Kinsella's four and Joy Powell, Claire Crofts, Donna Amarilli and Michelle Meadowcroft defeating Sue Atkinson's four 25-13 put us in a strong position with a plus 25 shot difference.

Amy Williams, Janet Griffiths, Lily Mae Adams and Emily Kernick narrowly lost to Diane Arnold's four 22-24 and Janet Edgington, Margaret Priddey, Ros Taylor and Izzie White lost to Gill Cliff's four 21-29.

Overall an excellent performance by all the ladies who now play Avon Valley on Saturday 15th November.

Sunday was the Egham Trophy team's first match of the campaign and after reaching the Semi Final last year hopes were high of another good run.

The players did not disappoint with wins on all 4 rinks and returning a 93-40 winning score. Highest winning rink was a joint 15 shot win for Liz Wooding, Ann Wooding, Mark Burdett and Ben Harris 23-8 over Mike Kelly and Amy Williams, Ros Taylor, Malc Follis and Ryan Prosser 20-5 over Rob Maries.

Lily Mae Adams, Hannah Smith, Callum Mitchell and Tom Holmes won 26-13 over Malcolm George and Joy Powell, James Seville, Izzie White and Alex Lewis 24-14 winners over Tony Thurlbeck.

Well done to all the players. Next round is Sunday 16th November vs Bromsgrove
