After all the excitement of the World Indoor Bowls Championships at Potters the season at Solihull IBC continues at great pace as we reach the latter stages of the National Competitions.
Egham Trophy
Our Solihull teams continue to make waves in the team events, cruising to a comfortable 85-68 win over Norfolk last Sunday in the Quarter Finals of the Egham Trophy.
Rinks wins for Liz Wooding, Mark Burdett, Emily Kernick & Ben Harris - 27-12, Lily Adams, Hannah Smith, Callum Mitchell & Tom Holmes - 24-18 & Michelle Meadowcroft, Faye Montgomery, Malcolm Follis & Ryan Prosser - 18-16 was more than enough to cover Amy Williams, Jon Palmer, Izzie White & Alex Lewis who narrowly lost 16-22.
Up next another semi final against Spalding on 22nd March 2026 - venue to be confirmed.
Mixed Fours
Hannah Smith, Emily Kernick, Tom Holmes & Ben Harris play tonight in the area final on the neutral green of Welford. We wish them the best of luck as they take on their opponents from Mid Glos IBC.
Men's Singles
Ryan Prosser booked his place in the area final of the Men's Singles after a comprehensive victory over AJ Docherty at Avon Valley IBC. Returning a 21-5 winning score Ryan now faces Martin Shepherd in the Area Final and we wish him the best of luck.
Women's 2 Bowl Singles
Emily Kernick booked her place in the area final with a win over club-mate Hannah Smith 21-8. Her opponent is not yet known.
Women's Triples
Hannah Smith, Izzie White & Emily Kernick booked their place in the area final with a convincing win away at Welford over the experienced Amy Walters trio 23-10. Their opponents are not yet known.
Women's Over 60 Singles
Liz Wooding booked her place in the Area Final with a 21-14 win over Sue Atkinson from Bromsgrove. In a repeat of last years area final she now faces Sandra Jones from Malvern IBC. Good Luck Liz!
Men's Over 50 Triples
Hughie Dunachie, Mick Tandy and Malcolm Follis booked their place in the area final with a fantastic 17-8 victory over Martin Timms' trio from Welford. They face Mike Knowles from Cotswold IBC in the area final. Good luck Guys!
Other events
SIBC are still represented in the Men's and Women's Pairs (Ben Harris & Tom Holmes), (Liz Wooding & Michelle Meadowcroft). Women's Fours (Michelle Meadowcroft, Hannah Smith, Izzie White & Emily Kernick). In the Men's 2 Bowl Singles club-mates Ryan Prosser and Dan Holmes play later today.
