Our current National Singles holder Tom Holmes continued his fine run of results last weekend when booking his place at the World Indoor Singles Championships to be held at the Potters resort in January.
After making the long trip down to Kent for the Saturday event Tom had his eyes set on winning the 6 matches needed to qualify.
The surface at Bromley is regarded as one of the fastest around, which resulted in a long days play, with the final being completed in the early hours of the morning!
Tom came through matches against James Paramor, Josh Austin, Nick Pillow, James Staples, Michael Cheeseman and Dan Rodger to book his place at Potters.
Normally you would be hoping to celebrate and rest up the next day, but not for Tom. He was back on Sunday hoping to qualify in the pairs with playing partner Harry Goodwin.
After another gruelling day and 5 matches played the pair narrowly lost in the final to Jon Wilson and Sammy Tindall.
Solihull also had other representatives at the weekend with Emily Kernick, Hannah Smith and Izzie White all playing.
Well done to Tom and best of luck for the World Championships. Draw to be published in late October.
